Location history

The Bernardo Winery is one of the oldest continuously operating wineries in California. Founded in 1889 and run by the Rizzo family since 1927, the winery is located 25 miles north of downtown San Diego. The Winery continues its traditions with its nostalgic decor, family friendly gardens as well as offering a local taste for shops, coffee, local artisans and scenic backdrops. A wonderful place for the whole family to enjoy.

Located in the north county of San Diego, California, we are located off of the 15 Freeway. From Paseo Del Verano, turn into main entrance. Take first left to our Clay Artists Studio home.

The Clay Studio hours:

Our Clay Studio is open on a catch-us-when-you-can basis. We do not offer regular hours. If we are there working and our sign says "Open", come on in to shop and visit. For appointments to visit our gallery, please contact us at info@clayartistsatthevineyard.com.

The Bernardo Winery hours:

Closed Monday and Tuesdays.

  • Tasting Room & The Kitchen: Wednesday – Saturday: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

  • Manzanita Coffee: Wednesday – Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Sunday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Certified Farmers Market: Fridays, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (lower parking lot) [1]
